Common Questions

Have a question about Clarkys Body Shop? Wow, we must be great mind readers. Hopefully we can answer a few for you in the FAQs below. If not, feel free to contact us and we’ll reply back as soon as we can.
What Is CrossFit?

CrossFit started as the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Since then it has evolved to be an all-inclusive fitness program for people of any athletic capability.

Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.

The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.

The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our armed forces, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.

What is Mechanix?

Mechanix evolved from our combined 30 years in the fitness space. Along the way we have seen a trend. Someone finally gets excited or builds up the courage enough to step in the door and take their first steps in whatever goal they have in their mind. They embark on their venture with an initial steering, an idea of the ending, and no path to follow. Mechanix is a small group of no more than 5 athletes following their custom road map.

What is GPP?

Level 2 in our class structures, General Physical Preparedness (GPP) is our BASE TRAINING program with the intentions to re-inforce your body. Ideal for leveling your body out for health, strength & conditioning, recovery from specific training, and just plain FUN! We implant many different training tools to keep this adult recess always evolving in new ways.

Do you offer personal training?
